Straight answers to common questions

  • Is one dog year really seven human years?

No. Dogs mature fastest in their first two years, and larger dogs age faster after that. A dog’s first year is closer to 15 human years.

  • How accurate is the adult size estimate?

It is a range, not a promise. The range is widest for young puppies and narrows as they grow or when you add an earlier weigh-in.

  • When do puppies stop growing?

Most small and medium dogs reach adult weight around 9–12 months. Large dogs take longer, and giant breeds can keep growing until about two.

  • Does it work for mixed breeds?

Yes. Choose an expected size group, or “Not sure” to use growth alone. The range is a little wider without breed data.

  • Do you save what I enter?

No. The calculators run entirely in your browser and nothing you type is sent to us.
